The City of Lone Tree is a wonderful place to live, work and visit. Past and current leaders along with a high caliber City Staff have dedicated their efforts in ensuring a well-planned and fiscally responsible city. A special THANK YOU to Mayor Jackie Millet and Councilmember Cathie Frazzini for their exemplary dedication and years of public service. They will be missed but will remain part of the strong fabric of this community.
The upcoming Election Day on May 7th will begin a new chapter in our City. We will elect a new Mayor and two new Councilmembers. It is with great commitment and excitement that I have declared my candidacy to run for Councilmember for District 2.
After serving for over a decade in local government and currently serving as Chair of the City of Lone Tree Planning Commission I understand the critical importance local government plays in keeping our city thriving, our residents safe, our businesses prosperous and preserving the high quality of life.
When my husband and I entered the empty nest life stage after raising three children and living in South Denver for 25 years we looked long and hard at where we wanted to live and selected Lone Tree. Once settled I sought opportunities to engage and serve in this community. I have been honored and privileged to serve on the Planning Commission and as a Victim Advocate and have seen first-hand all the dedication of the citizens, community volunteers, City Council and City employees making this such a special community. We are all proud to call Lone Tree "home."
The future is bright and there are significant business and community investments being made as this City doubles in size over the next ten to fifteen years. Decisions made today will shape the future of Lone Tree for generations to come. Maintaining the beautiful character of traditional Lone Tree as the City expands to the East is a top priority we all share.
I pledge to listen well to both the concerns of residents and businesses focused on what is best for this community and its continued success. My background in corporate finance, board service and civic engagement have prepared me well to serve the people of Lone Tree.

It is with no reservation that I strongly endorse Alecia Brown for City Council (District 2). This May will see a number of important changes in the governance of the city, and it is very important that the best candidates are selected to fill the big “chairs” of those moving on. Alecia is one of those individuals! I first met Alecia when she was appointed to the city’s Planning Commission. Fellow commissioners quickly expressed their confidence in Alecia’s leadership and experience when they selected her as Vice Chair. Over the past several years, she has never failed to impress me by her professionalism, desire to always improve process, and developing a solid grasp of the myriad city guiding documents such as the Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Code, Design Guidelines, and Landscape Guidelines. Her experience in public service is deep and varied, ensuring we will have a future council member who understands how all those pieces fit together. Alecia instills trust in those she works with, has developed relationships with citizens and staff throughout the city, and is a “forward thinker” who will ensure the future remains bright for the city.
I strongly urge a vote for Alecia Brown for City Council (District 2).
I confidently and sincerely endorse Alecia Brown in her desire to represent her District and serve on the Lone Tree City Council. Alecia has been an engaged citizen for several years and has had a significant impact on the Lone Tree Planning Commission. Alecia is experienced, energetic and works very well with others. I believe that she will carry these same traits and characteristics and help lead our great City in the future.
It is my pleasure to endorse Ms. Alecia Brown for the District 2 seat on the Lone Tree City Council.
I have worked with Alecia for several years while she served as a member of the Heritage Hills Homeowners Association board. Her professional performance as our Treasurer was exemplary. She paid excellent attention to financial details. She initiated several reporting improvements that increased the accuracy and transparency of our financial reports and management processes.
Her personal initiative to communicate the HOA’s financial position and tactfully respond to homeowner questions in a timely manner increased our homeowner community’s confidence that we were appropriately stewarding our financial resources.
On a personal level, I have enjoyed my personal and professional relationship with Alecia. She is a person of integrity and does not hesitate to hold others to her high personal standards. I am confident that, if elected, she will serve with distinction on the Lone Tree City Council.
